Greetings, Beloved GemPowerment Family! This New Moon, taking place at 12:15am Pacific time on Monday July 8th, 2013, is very powerful as it occurs in (16 degrees) Cancer with the Sun in Cancer as well. In addition, Jupiter, the planet of fortune and expansion, is also in Cancer, as is Mercury, which is approaching it’s retrograde midpoint, of course our Chatty Cathy of the astrological signs, and all about communication. Now, I’m not an astrologer, nor do I play one on T.V., but I think most people would agree that with all this Cancerian energy, this points to exploration of our emotional well-being and how we can address any issues or energies that still need attention. Emotional/Mental detoxification is on the agenda for many of us right now, as we are all being squeezed like a sponge so we can be comfortable as we raise our individual and collective vibration(s). We could take an opportunity to have a “talk” (even if it’s just to a chair) with people from our past around situations that still bug us, or talk to your then-self about what could have been done better at that time – but be sure to couple this with a healthy dose of self-forgiveness lest you “should” all over yourself, which would be counter-productive. This is a time for gentle self-nurturing as well, so we can be there for others as well as ourselves, in this process. If you feel the strong urge any time now through Tuesday when the Moon goes into Leo, to just get under the covers, take a hot bath, or just make soup, this would be that time!
Dumortierite (Al6.5-7(BO3)(SiO4)3(O,OH)3 ) is Quartz with Aluminum Borosilicate inclusions, which usually results in a dark-blue but can range from purplish to green to pink. It is a Wind-element stone which could be very helpful to you in this energy. It is known as a stone that can open the pineal gland and the 3rd Eye Chakra, connecting a person with his/her intuition and Source. This helps keep our Higher Mind engaged while we are poking around in the emotional recesses. Dumortierite opens up all psychic abilities, and also provides mental discipline to help us stay on-task vs. getting caught up in the energy we’re trying to clear. This stone is also said to promote a positive attitude when the road ahead looks daunting or unclear and a healthy tolerance of others when there are discordant energies in a relationship of any kind. It is known as a good Mineral Ally for healthy self-expression so you can get across what you’re really trying to say. Physically, Dumortierite can help one “chill out” from the stress that always accompanies periods of intense change.
