Greetings Beloved GemPeeps! We are entering an interesting period over the next month or so with Mars moving into Cancer. This is a strange combo indeed and many astrology buffs would say Mars is “weak” or watered down in this position. As I am not an astrologer and I like to look at what possibilities exist in a given situation, I would tend to say that we should look at how we can make the most of this energy. What can it mean? This combination may spur action coming purely from our emotions without the benefit of logic. All our mothering, nurturing instincts, or anything else to do with our families or home could be given a huge boost to finally move forward and bring on changes we have been considering or desiring for some time. Don’t be surprised if domestic issues that have been lying just below the surface for a while suddenly bubble and pop right up for discussion. You may find yourself cleaning out closets, cabinets, or old papers with a vengeance. We may feel more motivated to come out of our safe place on some level(s) and take action where we have been heretofore unable to do so. We may also have a strong tendency to be extra protective of anybody or anything we are especially sensitive towards, for example a group of people or a cause near and dear to our hearts, and use this Cancerian/Martian energy to stand up and fight with great passion and drive.
I don’t know about you, but this proposal fills me with lots of hope and makes me feel kaput at the same time! Guidance has suggested very strongly that beautiful blue-green Chrysocolla [(Cu,Al)2H2Si2O5(OH)4•n(H2O)] is an excellent ally to keep things on a more even keel during this time of Mars in Cancer. It has been known as a Gemstone Ally since the days of the Ancient Greeks when it was used to solder gold items (chrysos = gold, kolla = glue). Legend has it that Cleopatra always had a piece of Chrysocolla with her. This soothing stone carries a feminine Earth vibration that brings with it wisdom, calmness, and some level-headedness into the equation. Chrysocolla tends to bring tranquility and is said to assist in the process of forgiveness, which we all might need a little bit of if we let things boil over.
Wearing this stone in any type of jewelry will do the trick during this energy window. So, to keep things more chill through August 27th, be like Cleopatra and wear your Chrysocolla!
