Greetings Beloved GemPowerment Family and wishing you a very happy New Moon! With these energies, we are being offered an amazing opportunity to really embrace change for new beginnings, especially in the area of our physicality as a path to spirituality. It’s time to challenge our ideas of what really gives us comfort, i.e. what does financial security, pleasure and luxury, and abundance really look like when we ditch our old ideas of “success?” And what about our outdated concepts of relationships and love? It’s time for us to base those on being emotionally authentic with ourselves and each other. We may be spiritual beings having a human experience, and with this New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus, this new beginning is an opportunity to start fresh on feeling truly comfortable in our bodies and how we are making our way in this world as our journey back to Spirit.
Guidance on which Mineral Kingdom Ally would be most helpful for transmuting these energies came quickly – Black Calcite. This is a stone which was “found” rather recently in the mountains of Colorado (although it was used by the ancient Pueblo Indians as a power stone prior to being more available), and has since been found in other parts of the US and Mexico. Black Calcite begs the question of juxtaposition of the 3D and Higher Dimensions: otherwise known as the Shaman’s Path. It is Calcite (CaCO3) with enough extra pure Carbon thrown into the matrix to color the stone black (sometimes brown and/or gray). Most often, the coloring of North American Black Calcite comes from manganese/silver. The specimens from the Colorado location have been named Shamanite, and also have small inclusions of Pyrite, Quartz, Strontianite, Marcasite, and Zircon, which was part of the formation process in the beds of a Pre-Cambrian shallow sea which covered the area from what is now Canada into the southwestern part of the US. Because of this, there are microscopic shell fossils and can be sometimes seen in the mineral as teeny white spirals. The indigenous peoples who worked with Shamanite used it as a powerful protective talisman, for inducing trance states, and for connecting with Nature Guides and Spirit Animals. It has been used carved into talismans (it’s very soft – a 3 on the Moh’s Scale) and worn for these purposes.
During this New Moon Eclipse time and for the next few weeks until after we pass through the Full Moon eclipse on 5/25 , Shamanite can help us see how to bridge the physical 3D with spirituality because within it is the lowest expression of carbon – coal- and the highest potential expression – Diamond. As we are carbon-based life forms, we have the innate ability to be both. Imagine if we could be completely comfortable in our physical bodies, allowing full expression of the form, while experiencing the enlightenment of consciousness? Well, isn’t that how we define “Ascension”, i.e. what this New Energy on this little planet in the cosmic boonies is about? The Calcite base is crucial in providing the auric cleansing and multi-dimensional connection of the Chakras, which we will need to shed any negativity and open to our God-Selves, and the carbon is like a filter to assist us on the physical as we peel back the layers of addictions, etc. The more we can purify our bodies, minds, and emotions and come more into alignment with our Divine Blueprint of Optimal Health in our bodies, the more easily we can access the energies and multi-dimensional expression that is our true birthright.
As this is a high-vibrational power stone and the window of opportunity to utilize its gifts is broad, I suggest you get some Black Calcite/Shamanite in either raw or polished form for meditation or placement on your altar, or in jewelry form so you can have it in your personal auric field all day. If you do the latter, you may also be shown or remember ancient knowledge that will further empower you on your path. As this is a Calcite based stone, I recommend clearing regularly with sage smoke and rinse with water and then a little fresh air and indirect sunlight.
